Once the haunt of the likes of literary Harlem Renaissance titan Langston Hughes, the U Street Corridor has a bohemian flavor to its ambiance. It is the anchor of the DC music scene with its contemporary and historic jazz venues and is a trendy and diverse community that visitors to the District will definitely enjoy.

The Corridor also offers visitors many dining options, including Vinoteca Wine Bar & Bistro, 1940 11th Street NW, between T and U Streets (202-332-9463) which recently opened this past week. Vinoteca offers a great selection of wine by the glass, wonderful cheeses and charcuterie and a relaxing and laid back neighborhood atmosphere for DC visitors.

After you've had your fill of red or white, head over to the 9:30 Club or Black Cat for some live music. It will definitely be a highlight of your trip.
