Think you’re the next E.E. Cummings or Alfred Tennyson? Then it’s time to put pen to paper. The Smithsonian Associates have announced the 3rd Annual Kite Festival Poetry Contest, open to students grades first through twelfth. All soaring verse should describe kites and kite-flying. Poems must be 150 words or less and can be written in the form of your choice. The selected poets will read their poem onstage at this year’s Kite Festival. They also receive a special ribbon and are invited, along with their families, to a reception later that evening. Entries must be received by March 10, 2008. Click here to download an entry form.
