Saturday, May 17, 2008, 8 a.m. - 5p.m. and Sunday, May 18, 2008, 8:00 a.m.- 4 p.m. The Dragon Boat Festival will get underway. This event takes place every year on the Potomac River near the Thompson Boathouse (2900 Virginia Ave., NW) in Georgetown. The boats are colorful--painted to look like dragons--and make for an elegant site as they race down the Potomac. Check-out the schedule of events and leave some time to head over to Sequoia or other Georgetown eatery on the water for a bite to eat after the races.
