Take the Kids to See the Albert Einstein Memorial in DC

Albert Einstein Memorial in Washington, DC.

The Albert Einstein Memorial is a unique DC site that if you don't see it during your first visit to the District, you will your second. Kids of all agaes love this statue that pays homage to the great inventor and scientist.

Old Albert's memorial made its debut in April 1979--the centennial of Einstein's birth--and rests in an elm and holly grove in the southwest corner of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) grounds. Made of bronze and weighing in at four tons, Einstein is seated on a three-step bench of Mount Airy (North Carolina) white granite. Its creator, Robert Berks is also known for his creation of the famous Kennedy Bust that rests at the Kennedy Center.
