On Sunday afternoon, January, 18, 2009 at 2 p.m. the Lincoln Memorial is going to get a touch of the glitz and glam of Hollywood when performers like Beyonce, Bono, Mary J. Blige, Garth Brooks and an all-star line-up perform a free concert. This event will jump-start Inauguration week and will be approximately 90-minutes in length. Also expected to give historical readings during the festivities are Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx and Queen Latifah. The Lincoln Memorial is a traditional site for free inauguration concerts, but this concert definitely has more celebrity wattage than previous concerts. If you are planning on attending this event a couple of tips:

  • Dress warmly. The weather is going to be exceptionally cold on Sunday.
  • Take the Metro. There is very limited parking that is near by.
  • Be prepared for a big crowd.
  • And have a great time.
