Apollo 11 40th Anniversary Events in DC

The Smithsonian’s Air & Space Museum, The Kennedy Center and the Newseum will all be commemorating the Apollo 11 Fortieth Anniversary this month. It is hard to believe that 40 years ago Neil Armstrong radioed back to Houston that “The Eagle has Landed” and man took his first steps on the moon. With those first steps Armstrong famous quote, "That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," was born.

Beginning July 16, 2009 there are many lectures, films, exhibits and book signings to attend around the city to celebrate this historic occasion. . .read more
