Taking in a performance at the Kennedy Center on New Year's Eve is an elegant yet festive way to ring in 2009. Purchase tickets to listen to the National Symphony Orchestra perform on December 31, 2008 and hear favorite selections including Mendelssohn's Finale from Violin Concerto, Strauss's Tales from the Vienna Woods, and and excerpt from Copland's A Lincoln Portrait, narrated by DC Mayor Anthony Williams.

New Year's Eve Grand Foyer Party

After the concert, stroll over to the Center's Grand Foyer for a big balloon countdown, a lively party, champagne toast, and dancing until 1 a.m. with Full Swing and waltzing with the Salon Orchestra of Washington. To attend this bash, ticket stubs from a 12/31/08 Kennedy Center evening performance or a receipt from any Kennedy Center restaurant for that evening are required for admission.
