Earth Day in Washington, DC takes center stage and the National Mall will be hopping on Sunday, April 19, 2009 from noon to 6:00 p.m. as the Earth Day Festival gets underway. Visitors to the National Mall will be treated to educational displays, music, and speakers who will discuss the environment and creating a green world.
Entertainment includes musical performances by The Flaming Lips, moe., Los Lobos, DJ Spooky and many more will perform. This free event on the National Mall will be emceed by actor Chevy Chase and Matthew Modine is also expected along with a host of politicos.
Getting There
Take Metro as parking will be limited and difficult to find. The closest Metro stops: Smithsonian, Archives and L' Enfant Plaza.
