Celebrate the 2009 Inauguration at The Shakespeare Theatre Company

By Karen Hart, About.com

So you weren’t invited to Oprah’s inauguration soiree and you couldn’t get tickets to a taping of her show at the Kennedy Center. There are still plenty of other inauguration events going on in town that are accessible. On Saturday, January 17, 2009 beginning at 12:00 noon, The Shakespeare Theatre Company will hold a performance of its Happenings at the Harman series in honor of the Presidential Inauguration. The performance will feature patriotic selections performed by Brass of the Potomac and takes place at Sidney Harman Hall.

Harman Happenings is a celebration of artists and the local community. Held on Wednesdays from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., these free performances feature some of the leading artists and thinkers of the day as they explore the synergy between the performances on our city’s stages and the events that shape our community and world.
