Fiesta Asia National Asian Heritage Festival 2009 in Washington DC

The 2009 Fiesta Asia – National Asian Heritage Festival will be on Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. along Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 3rd St & 6th St.

During the May 16th Grand Celebration, savor the many flavors of Asian culture. Participants of all ages will enjoy a wide array of activities, including live performances by musicians, vocalists, dance artists, Pan-Asian cuisine, multi cultural marketplace, interactive demonstrations, martial arts performances, cooking demonstrations, and exhibits of traditional and contemporary Asian crafts.

This year’s festival highlights include “Meet Chi-Chang the Live Terracotta Warrior” from the National Geographic Museum Exhibit & a world class martial arts demo from Anji Zhang, prominent Asian martial artist. Laotian Reggaeton singer Alex San Dinero will be performing on the talent stage, while the international dance troupe of ancient culture of Xixia will be presenting on the cultural stage. Entertainment is scheduled on 3 stages by 60 various performing groups from over 20 cultures consecutively for 8 hours. A parade featuring lion dances and regional cultural organizations will take place at 2:00 p.m.

Admission to Fiesta Asia Street Fair is FREE and open to the public.
