Brew at the Zoo takes place on August 20, 2009 and is a great way to spend a summer afternoon at the National Zoo. Popular among both locals and visitors, Brew at the Zoo is an annual after hours event that allows party goers who are 21 and older (no babies and children allowed at this soiree) an opportunity to sample beer from more than 35 microbreweries, listen to live music by local entertainers Gonzo's Nose and Batala Percussion Band, and enjoy a summer evening at one of the most popular sights in the city. Dress is casual and the party takes place in tents perched on Lion/Tiger Hill.
Tickets are $50 for generall admission ($15 for those not drinking) and $85 for a VIP ticket. Proceeds support animal care, conservation science, education, and sustainability at the National Zoo. This event is extremely popular so if you are planning to go, get your tickets early.
Armand's Pizzeria, Hard Times Café, and Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company will be providing food for sale during the event. If you buy a VIP ticket, food is free.
