DC Beer Week 2009 - Beer Week in Washington, DC

DC Beer Week begins Sunday, August 16, 2009 and features a line-up of more than a dozen breweries and 25 restaurants across the District. This is the inaugural 2009 Washington, DC Beer Week and will give consumers an opportunity to meet brewers, experience food and beer pairings, and learn about beer styles and the history of brewing. Highlights of DC Beer Week include the following:

Sunday, August 16, 2009

  • The kick-off starts at the Rock and Roll Hotel with a Suds Celebration and concert. From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 16, enjoy music from See-I, The Blackjacks, Laura Tsaggaris Band and Jeff Wells, and with the purchase of a VIP ticket ($20), you can sample 10 rare craft beers.

  • Allagash Beer Dinner With Rob Tod at Granville Moore’s — A five-course, six-beer dinner with Allagash President and Brewmaster Rob Tod. $75.

  • Chimay Vintage Beer and Cheese Tasting at Birreria Paradiso – Chimay Blanche on draft and their vintage Grande Reserve with rich and nutty Chimay cheese. 5 p.m.

  • Brew at the Zoo takes place on August 20, 2009. Brew at the Zoo is an annual after hours event that allows party goers who are 21 and older (no babies and children allowed at this soiree) an opportunity to sample beer from more than 35 microbreweries, listen to live music by local entertainers Gonzo's Nose and Batala Percussion Band, and enjoy a summer evening at one of the most popular sights in the city.
