Screen on the Green is a time honored summer tradition in Washington, DC. Sponsored by HBO, Comcast and the Trust for the National Mall, Screen on the Green is a free family-friendly event, so you can’t beat the price, and generally screens classic films. Prior to the screening, movie goers get to enjoy a teaser in the form of a classic cartoon, as well as some dancing during the HBO intro.

Where: The screen is located off of Constitution Ave, between 4th and 7th Streets
What to Bring: blankets, a yummy picnic spread or your favorite movie foods, non-alcoholic drinks, mosquito repellant, umbrella.
How to Get There: Take Metro. The Smithsonian stop (blue/orange lines) is the closest.
This is a hugely popular event in DC so plan on arriving early to get a good spot.
