Toy train displays light up the face of a child any time of the year, but during the holiday season trains have a seasonal magic of their own.

Union Station Norwegian Model Train Display. Norwegian model train winds through the mountains and fjords of Norway. Each train is a replica of a historic Norwegian train. The Norwegian Train Display will be up and running November 24, 2009 - December 2009. Hours: Monday - Saturday, 10:00 a. m. – 7:00 p. m.; Sunday, Noon – 6:00 p. m. United States Botanic Garden Holiday Train Display. Don’t miss the enchanting miniature trains that run through mountains, fairy tale villages and Santa’s town all surrounded by the beauty of holiday foliage. Next to the train garden, one of Washington’s largest indoor holiday trees provides the setting for Tuesday and Thursday evening performances of seasonal music. Runs through January 10, 2010. U.S. Botanic Garden, 100 Maryland Avenue, SW, Washington, DC at the foot of the U.S. Capitol.

Model Trains at the National Christmas Tree and the Pageant of Peace Seasonal displays include a Yule log and a large-scale model train. The National Christmas Tree Railroad provides model trains that surround the base of the National Christmas Tree. The trains run from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily through January 1st.
