Caribbean Carnival 2009 in Washington, DC

If celebrating the Island's culture sounds like fun, then the DC Caribbean Carnival is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the culture through arts, crafts, food, dance and music. The parade which begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009 kicks off the festival and really is a lovely sight going down Georgia Avenue. After the parade, be sure to head over to the food court and try the jerk chicken and the red beans and rice. The carnival continues on Sunday, June 28, 2009 hosting the international marketplace at Banneker Park , "DE SAVANNAH " with live performances from local and international artists, food, craft and entertainment. This is an annual event that the whole family can enjoy.

When: Saturday, June 27, 2009 12-9 p.m.; Sunday, June 28, 2009, 12-7 p.m.

Where:Parade Route goes along Georgia Avenue from Missouri Avenue to Barry Place.

Admission: $10 per person
