Final Stop: US Treasury Building

US Treasury Department

Joebengo at Wikipedia

Our final stop is the US Treasury Building. From the Hotel Washington, head north on Fifteenth Street toward F St, NW. The building is right next to the White House, and once housed the Department of Justice where Whitman worked from 1872 to 1873 as a clerk. According to an article by Kim Roberts, in 1872 Whitman was transferred to an office in the Treasury Building proper, in the Solicitor's Office.

There are many wonderful walking tours available of Washington,DC including the Monuments by Moonlight and Spies of Washington Tours.
