Union Station is the most visited DC destination with over 32 million visitors each year. The train station is a hub for Amtrak and with 130 unique shops and dining options, Union Station has become a vibrant retail center. Additionally, VRE, MARC and Metrorail have trains with a Union Station stop. Visitors will also be happy to know that there's a movie theatre housed in the Station, making it convenient to catch a film in between, shopping, dining or catching a train.

Union Station is just a couple of blocks from the U.S. Capitol and is within walking distance to the National Mall. When Union Station first opened in 1907, it was the largest train station in the world and took up more ground than any other building in the U.S. It is considered an example of Beaux-Arts architecture.
